Sarah D. Hocking joined IFMK Law as a Senior Associate in April, 2025. She has an extensive legal background in Workers’ Compensation with a focus on healthcare risk management and compliance that includes her role as Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Sarah completed the coursework for the certification in healthcare risk management and became certified in healthcare compliance. Sarah has practiced in Workers’ Compensation for over 20 years.
Sarah began her career at a defense firm where she gained valuable experience in the fields of worker’s compensation defense, medical malpractice defense, and personal injury defense. She also spent several years practicing as both a plaintiff and defense attorney in civil litigation in various fields, including medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, family law, and workers’ compensation. Sarah was also a felony prosecutor for over two years in Coles County, Illinois where she successfully tried many cases.
Sarah lives in Mattoon, IL with her husband Sean, and their two boys.
